Valued Patient,
In light of the rapidly changing issues surrounding COVID-19, we at Allergy Specialists of Knoxville want to assure you that our highest priority is to protect the health and well-being of our patients, families, and staff.
We are open our normal hours for appointments, allergy shots and phone calls. As we remain available for your needs we continue to monitor new information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Tennessee Department of Health, and are following the protocols recommended.
We have implemented measures to reduce the spread of the virus and to insure you feel safe during a face-to face appointment or allergy shot visit including:
- Removing non-essential items from waiting areas and exam rooms.
- Instituting additional cleaning protocols for waiting rooms and exam rooms.
- Assessing patients for symptoms of infection when they schedule appointments.
- Asking that only the patient and one essential person (parent/guardian/caregiver) come for the appointment and injection visit as to encourage social distancing.
- Requiring all patients, clinical and administrative staff to wear masks.
- Offering hand sanitizer at check-in, check-out and throughout the clinic.
- Screening patients upon arrival to the office for signs and symptoms of infection.
- Offering telemedicine services using a secure video connection via a smart phone or computer. Depending on your insurance plan your telehealth visit may be covered and co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance may be waived. Please check with your individual plan for information. These services allow patients to receive care without the risk of infection. Not all patients can be cared for remotely; if during the visit it is determined the problem requires an office visit, one will be scheduled. If you already have an existing face-to-face appointment scheduled and want to arrange for a telehealth visit call the office at 865-588-2753 or request one through our website. Existing patients may also use the patient portal link on our website to request an appointment.
We ask for patience and cooperation as we all adapt to the changes emerging as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and thank you for your trust in us. We look forward to seeing you in our clinic, or virtually (Telehealth). Please do not hesitate to reach out to the office 865-588-2753 with any questions or concerns.
